Who Am I?

I’m David Sparks, Skraps is my name spelled backwards. I am a lot of things. A developer, designer, hobbyist, artist, cyclist, basketball addict & toy maker/collector.

What Do I Do?

I’m a Web Developer at CS2 Interactive in Memphis TN. My daily responsibilities & specialties include developing websites, building wordpress themes, managing social media platforms, coding & blasting html email news letters & being a can do kind of guy. You should Hire Me for any of your freelance needs related to my listed fields of expertise!

How Long Have I Been At It?

It all started back in 9th grade when my family finally got our first computer. I absolutely had to know how to build websites. I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen so I started teaching myself which included writing html tables on notebook paper in class instead of doing school work & taking them home to type them into an angel fire site to see if my code worked. Soon after I started a pretty big local music website called OurMemphis that is now defunct. That site gave me a constant stream of things to update & work on & was redesigned more times than i can remember.

I spent much of my youth pursuing my dream to be a Musician from 2000 to 2008. Over 5 years ago I got a full time job designing & developing in house for a trade show company and fair company. 

Where Am I?

I live in the Bluff City, Memphis, TN.

How Do I Do It?

Well it’s magic really, like I said. I use Photoshop, Dreamweaver & Coda along with many other tools to hand code web sites that function to the creative teams specifications and needs. I then sprinkle a little UX/Usability magic powder all over it with semantic mark up & jQuery. I also use WordPress as a CMS & blogging platform when it fits the job. For eCommerce sites, I work with Lemonstand.

Web Sites

I design fun websites focused on quality User Experiences and I develop semantic code by hand in HTML5 & CSS with splashes of jQuery scattered about. I have over 5 years experience designing and developing front end websites.

PSD SLICING

Already have the design? Send me your PSD Files & I send you HTML/CSS form. Single pages framed out or multiple sub pages coded.

HTML EMAILS

Hand Coded, Custom Designed. It’ll work in all Common Email Clients & You’ll be Happy. I have over 3 years real world experience developing cross browser HTML emails for large corporate clients. I know all the little tricks and and have extensive code templates I’ve personally developed and refined to make the process as fast and consistent as possible. 

WORDPRESS THEMES

Hand Coded from Scratch. What Else Do You Need To Know? I’ve been working with WordPress as my blogging platform and CMS of choice for over 3 years. I’ve done the most common blog theme to some of the strangest uses of the platform that I can imagine. 

ECOMMERCE WEBSITE

A newly acquired skill set that’s both challenging and rewarding. Currently building a web-store for my personal clothing & toy line, Astrobot, on the Lemonstand platform. Lemonstand is a great option if you’re looking to start an online eTail business that’s scalable and customizable for the long term
